A person has AIDS when they have rare infections (called opportunistic) or certain rare types of cancer, or when they have lost a certain number of CD4 cells. Typically, if you don’t get treatment, this happens about 10 years after you get HIV. Treatment for HIV can delay the onset of AIDS, or even prevent it altogether.
Symptoms of AIDS include:
canker sores (a thick white coating on the tongue or mouth)
Sore throat
strong fungal infections
chronic pelvic inflammatory disease
I have serious infections very often
feeling very tired, dizzy and dizzy
headache
lose a lot of weight quickly
bruises more easily than usual for you
prolonged diarrhea, fever or night sweats
swollen or hard glands in the throat, armpits, or groin
