Summertime Strawberry Poke Cake

Prepare and bake the cake according to the package instructions using a 9×13 inch baking pan. Allow the cake to cool completely.

Once cooled, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the cake.

Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, then mix in the cold water. Pour the gelatin mixture over the cake, making sure it fills the holes.

Arrange the sliced strawberries evenly over the top of the cake.

Spread the whipped cream over the strawberries, covering the entire surface of the cake.

Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours to allow the gelatin to set.

Garnish with extra strawberries before serving, if desired.
