Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

Directions:
Salisbury Steaks:
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 40-60 seconds. Allow to cool slightly.
In a large bowl, combine the onion mixture with beef, breadcrumbs, egg, tomato sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, pepper, and salt. Mix just until combined. Form into 4-5 oval steaks.
Heat the remaining oil in the same skillet and brown the steaks on both sides. Transfer to a plate.
Mushroom Gravy:
In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon oil and sauté sliced onion until browned. Add mushrooms and cook until golden.
Return steaks to skillet, add beef broth, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Mix cornstarch with water and gradually stir into the skillet. Cook until the sauce thickens. Ensure internal temperature of steaks reaches 160°F (71°C).
