Quiche with a Crispy Potato Crust

6 big eggs

1 and a half cups of heavy cream or half-and-half

1 cup of grated cheddar cheese

1/2 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese

1 cup of cooked ham or bacon, chopped (if desired)

1/2 cup of chopped green onions

1/2 cup of diced bell peppers

Add salt and pepper according to your preference.

Fresh chives or parsley, finely chopped (for decoration)

Guidelines:

Heat the oven before using it.

Heat your oven to 425°F (220°C) before using it.

Make the base:

In a big bowl, mix together the grated potatoes, melted butter, salt, and pepper.

Press the mixture of hash browns firmly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie dish or a springform pan to make the crust.

Put the crust in the oven that has been preheated and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until it becomes golden brown and crispy.

Get the filling ready.

While the pie crust is baking, mix the eggs, cream, salt, and pepper in a big bowl.

Add the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, cooked ham or bacon (if using), green onions, and bell peppers.

Make the Quiche.

Lower the oven heat to 350°F (175°C) when the crust is done.

Pour the beaten eggs into the cooked hash brown crust.

Cook in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is firm and the top is a golden brown color.

Chill and Serve:

Let the quiche cool for around 10 minutes before cutting it.

Add some freshly cut chives or parsley on top.

Advice:

Personalize the filling: You can add your favorite ingredients to the filling, like cooked mushrooms, spinach, or various cheeses.

Avoid a wet crust by thoroughly draining the hash browns before pressing them into the dish.

Suggested serving ideas: This quiche goes nicely with a simple green salad or some fruit on the side for a full meal.

Enjoy your homemade quiche with a crispy hash brown crust, a tasty mix of flavors and textures that is great for any meal!
