Pizza Margherita

Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can reach (usually around 500°F or 260°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.

Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface into a round or rectangular shape, depending on your preference.

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza peel or an inverted baking sheet dusted with cornmeal or flour. This will make it easier to slide the pizza onto the hot oven surface.

Spread a generous layer of tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a border for the crust.

Arrange the fresh mozzarella cheese slices or torn pieces over the sauce.

Tear fresh basil leaves and scatter them across the pizza.

Drizzle a bit of extra-virgin olive oil over the top, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

If you’re using a pizza stone, carefully slide the pizza onto the hot stone in the preheated oven. If not, simply place the baking sheet in the oven.

Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

Remove your perfectly baked Pizza Margherita from the oven.

Slice it up and savor the harmony of sweet tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fragrant basil, and the richness of olive oil. A true Italian masterpiece!

Treat yourself to the taste of Italy with this classic pizza that’s as beautiful as it is delicious. Buon appetito!
