My mama used to make these growing up. I finally found a recipe and boy do these taste even better than I remember. Can’t wait to gift them this year

Instructions:

1. In a large sauce pan, heat sugar, peanut butter, and corn syrup in a pot until boiling, stirring constantly.
2. Put cereal in a large bowl. Pour the boiled mixture over the cereal and mix well.
3. Press into a greased 9×13 baking pan.
4. Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips in a small pot over low heat, stirring.
5. Pour the melted mixture over the cereal base in the baking dish, using a spatula to spread it evenly.
6. Allow the Scotcheroos to cool and set at room temperature (~30 mins) until the chocolate topping is firm.

Once set, cut into squares or bars and serve.
Whether you’re looking to satisfy your own craving for a sweet treat or need a dessert that will impress guests, Scotcheroos are a surefire choice. The combination of the distinct flavors and textures makes them truly addictive. Serve these delectable treats alongside a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, or simply enjoy them on their own.
