I noticed that bollas are called drop doughnuts nowadays. I grew up knowing these as Bollas and a bolla it will stay in my vocabulary

Makes about 20 bollas

Ingredients

1 large egg
1/3 cup of sugar
1/3 cup of oil
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
2 cups self-raising flour
1 & 1/3 cup of buttermilk
Coconut
Oil for deep frying

Whisk together the sugar, oil and the egg until creamy
Add vanilla essence, the flour and the buttermilk
Mix well to combine.
