Decadent Chocolate Glaze Cake

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. Add eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla to the flour mixture and mix until smooth.
4. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
5. Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
6. For the glaze, heat heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and butter, stirring until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
7. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Pour half of the glaze over the cake, spreading it to the edges. Place the second layer on top and pour the remaining glaze over the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Let set before serving.
