Curried Rice with Raisins

Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a saucepan, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
In a separate skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the curry powder, turmeric, and cinnamon. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the cooked rice to the skillet, along with the raisins. Stir well to combine.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
