1. **Filling:** Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Form into balls and freeze for 1 hour.
2. **Dough:** Mix flour, baking soda and salt. Beat butter and sugars, add egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture and chocolate chips.
3. **Assembly:** Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Form discs with the dough, place the filling in the center and cover with another disc. Seals well.
4. **Bake:** Bake 12-15 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
