Black Forest Cherry Cake


Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour one 9-inch round baking pans.
In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract; mix for 2 minutes on medium speed. Stir in the boiling water until well combined. The batter will be thin.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

Drizzle the chocolate ganache over the top, letting it drip down the sides.Spread cherry pie filling over the top of the cake.
Garnish with fresh cherries if you wish.
