Air Fryer Yorkshire pudding

Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
Prepare the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and salt.
Gradually add the flour, whisking until smooth and lump-free.
Slowly pour in the milk while whisking continuously, ensuring the batter is smooth. Let the batter rest for 20-30 minutes at room temperature to help with puffing.
Heat the Oil:
Place silicone muffin molds or Yorkshire pudding trays in the air fryer basket.
Pour ½-1 teaspoon of vegetable oil or beef drippings into each mold. Heat the oil in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes, until it’s very hot and sizzling.
Cook the Yorkshire Puddings:
Once the oil is hot, carefully pour the batter into the molds, filling them about halfway. The hot oil will help the batter rise and create crispy edges.
Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes without opening the air fryer. The puddings should puff up and turn golden brown with crispy edges.
Do not open the air fryer during cooking, as this can cause them to deflate.
Serve:
Once cooked, remove the Yorkshire puddings from the air fryer and serve them immediately with roast beef, gravy, or your favorite meal.
Tips:
Rest the Batter: Letting the batter rest for 20-30 minutes at room temperature helps the puddings rise and gives them that signature airy texture.
Hot Oil: Ensure the oil is sizzling hot before pouring in the batter; this is key to achieving a good rise.
Don’t Overfill: Only fill the molds halfway with batter, as Yorkshire puddings need space to puff up.
Variations:
Herb-Infused: Add a pinch of dried herbs like thyme or rosemary to the batter for a more flavorful twist.
Cheesy Yorkshire Puddings: Stir in a small amount of grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese into the batter for a cheesy variation.
